Weekends and Christmas Break

Woohoo! Hello, blogging friends... finally, I am able to give you all an update and have a new post, it's about time!  School had been crazy and I was super busy with final exams (glad that's over) and coming home for about three weeks.  Lots has happened since my last post, so I will give you a brief recap, here we go!

My last actual post had weekend plans, wedding info, and beauticontrol.  Brinley's cheer competition was so much fun and she did a great job, especially for it to be her first competition.  The night before, at practice she did her standing handspring tuck and landed it, she had never been able to do it before, she also did her alterations (round-off, handspring, tuck, handspring, tuck)!  You would have thought she had done them forever, they looked so good!  Saturday started early with hair and makeup at the hotel, all the girls had to get all glitzy for the competition.  At the competition, Brinley's fans were our mom, Lisa, aunt, teresa, cousin, makayla, aunt nicole, and myself.  The team placed first in their division!  It was so much fun cheering her on and we can't wait for the next competition which is at the end of Jan.  Until then, there will be lots of practicing...

Wedding plans are still going well, we got some more things done for the cruise and still have a bit to do.  We are excited about registering in a couple of weeks, I'm sure you'll hear about it in another post!  Preston and I enjoyed time together before he went home to Abingdon this past Monday, I will see him again after Christmas.  Things have been going well, finished up Christmas cards and mailed them this week, I've wrapped a ton of presents, and I'm enjoying the break... well, for the most part.  I am taking an online class and I don't like that I have homework over Christmas, but oh well!!

I hope everyone has a very merry Christmas, let us remember what Christmas is really about and praise God for giving us his son as the most precious gift.  Through the hustle and bustle of shopping and buying, lets not forget the true reason for the season... Merry Christmas, everyone... and EMILY, enjoy Florida!!!

Wonderful Weekends

Well, I am now a part of the blogging world and I am still learning, but I decided it was time for my first post, woo!!
This past weekend, Preston and I went to my house to spend the weekend with the family.  It was a great weekend that was definitely needed after all of the stresses of last week.  I am so glad I got through this past Friday and things are slowing down a little bit, well, at least school work is.  Before heading home, a friend and I went to the wonderful Hobby Lobby.  It was so much fun and we found some great stuff… I just love that place!  I got TONS of scrap book paper that I was really excited about, couldn’t wait to get home to play on my cricut J
Friday evening, Brinley and Brice had their 11th birthday party.  It was an indoor glow in the dark putt-putt course. It was a lot of fun and they had a great turn out!

Saturday was a terrific day full of laziness… which hadn’t been in my life much the last little bit.  It was so nice to stay in and not go ANYWHERE!  We woke up to snow, and lots of it.  Brinley had two friends over and they began their day by going outside to sit in the hot tub while it snowed, then they made a Hawaiian snowman!

After laying around and doing nothing, I decided it was time to put up two more Christmas trees.  My family has eight trees this year, it’s a lot of work, but they look great once everything is finished!  Later Saturday evening, Preston and I got curious about real estate because we are going to be moving next December… we decided to see what our options might be, and we were please.  Here are some pics of the trees that are finished so far:

Ginger bread tree that has all ginger bread and candy ornaments, My fav!

Purple and Silver themed

Apple tree in our kitchen area

Our big general tree that has ornaments from everything and every where,
We have LED lights on it, looks great when the room lights are off!

Snowman tree, love it!  I turned the lights off to get a better pic of the ornaments.

UK tree... go CATS!

Our picture tree, my mom has made an ornament each year that has a picture
of each child, this tree only has picture ornaments :)

Sunday we went to church, Wal-Mart, and then home… to a wonderful Chili lunch my dad made, it was quite tasty, especially because we were cold and hungry!  After packing up and saying good-bye, Preston and I headed back to school.  When we got here, I began working with my cricut and making some Christmas cards, they’re going to be super cute! No pics though, it’d ruin the surprise!
That’s all for now, have a great week!
